Album Notes

Sultry funk 'n' soul from an underrated singer who knows about the intricacies of the heart. The music stings and heals at the same time.''

---STEVE MORSE, longtime Boston Globe reviewer

Erinn Brown is an amazingly talented vocalist. You don\'t just hear the notes or words she sings - you feel them. She has an uncanny knack for knowing when to hit the brakes and when to slam the gas pedal to the floor, all the while maintaining excellent vocal control and pitch. This album is full of songs with thoughtful lyrics covering a range of emotions. Personal favorites are \'Take It Slow\' (fantastic meandering yet perfectly controlled melody), \'In The End\' (cool guitar hook and unique lyrics), \'Get Out Of My Way\' (the syncopated chorus) and \'Dig Out The Pain\' (nice groove-vibe). But really there\'s not a bad song on the album, and with each careful listen you\'ll find nuances that will keep you coming back for more. Kudos also go out to the compliment of excellent musicians who are integral in helping make the ride slow down and speed up wherever needed. All-around, this is a great collection of music.

I saw/heard Erinn for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I instantly bought this album as a result. Her ability to fuse folk, blues and funk is beautiful, engaging and unique. I was almost completely mystified sitting there listening to her. Really outstanding - and never mind her all-star ensemble! Just a great group of talent producing some stellar music. This record is well worth the buy and at least a few thousand listens. Can\'t wait for more!

Erinn\'s new CD of originals, with an all-star cast of Boston\'s finest musicians, has been a long time in the works. But it\'s worth it. Erinn has plenty to say, and knows how to say it with feeling and rocking bluesy tunes, beautifully written and well produced. For me there are two stand-out tracks, \"Cool Summer Rain\" and \"Dig Out The Pain\", showcasing her unparalleled songwriting. And over the whole record, Erinn\'s stunningly liquid golden voice soars.
