"Indestructible Joy," Erin O'Hara's first solo record, is an intimate collection of ten starkly recorded songs, a sonic hybrid of folk simplicity and rock energy. Musicmisfits.com wrote: "This album is a tribute to love more than anything else... I cannot overemphasize how much you need this album. It's a record that will get you out of a funk, despite your best attempts to remain in one." Recorded over a series of Wednesdays, in the NYC home studio of the magnificent Tom Gavin, 'Indestructible Joy' is an intimate roadmap for reclamation. It was Erin's good fortune to be supported by the generous guitar brilliance of Tom Gavin, as well as the keen cello stylings of Leah Coloff (Lucibel Crater).

Erin O'Hara's musical career began as lead singer with the Albany-based band Mambo-X. The band released three singles and two studio albums, "Mambo-X" and "Whirled". Mambo-X shared the stage with many talented artists including Billy Bragg, Michelle Shocked, They Might Be Giants, 10,000 Maniacs, Soul Asylum, and Tom Tom Club. Buzz Magazine wrote of Erin's work "beautifully crazy, a dark, pure Irish singer."

Erin was then signed to Arista Records, but left the label over creative differences after her first record was recorded but never released. She formed the Irish-gospel hybrid band EO, which featured the fiercely talented Eileen Ivers (Riverdance) on electric fiddle and Gary Pozner (Tom Tom Club) on keyboards. EO independently released a 5 song EP, "High". The Irish Echo wrote, "with her captivating good looks and theatrical performance, O'Hara brings to mind a young Kate Bush."

As a composer for film and television, Erin's music is featured on a long list of award winning documentary and narrative films. Her scoring credits include- Michael Moore's Oscar nominated "SiCKO", the Emmy nominated POV documentary "IN THE FAMILY", HBO's "SEX & THE CITY, A FAREWELL", Bryan Gunnar Cole's "DAY ZERO" (starring Elijah Wood) Showtime's "UNFURLED" , "ROE VS. ROE" for Cinemax Real Life, "OUTSIDE LOOKING IN" and "BOOMTOWN" for PBS; "Search For the First Dog" "Street Dogs" and "The Crows" for National Geographic Television, HBO ("America Undercover"), PBS ("I'll Fly Away") and the award-winning short "The Sunshine". Her unique version of "Down in the Valley" (prod: David Kahne) was the featured single on the soundtrack for MGM's "Two Days in the Valley" (dir: John Hershfeld). Her haunting "Voice of A Gun" was featured in Brian DePalma's 'REDACTED".

Erin is also passionate about supporting the voices of the next generation of women in music. In August 2001 Erin led the vocal workshops at the "Rock and Roll Camp for Girls" in Portland, Oregon. Rock on grrls.
