Erwin is from Scotland. He came to America in 1968. He describes his experience this way: “Every good thing that happened to me in my life, happened after I came to America.”
This album came about from Erwin’s thoughts and feelings about his new country: “As I looked back on my new life in America, I felt I wanted to shake the hand of every single American for letting me come here and become one of them.”
A more practical choice for Erwin was to celebrate America’s diverse musical heritage. Erwin put it this way: “These songs are the heart and soul of America. If folks enjoy listening to them half as much as I enjoyed recording them, then I shall be happy. God bless America – and thanks again!”
