Excellent filk
author: AlluraI came across Escape Key thanks to their Firefly filk, Mal's Song. Then I got hooked on the rest of their music. The songs on this CD are ones I want to hear over & over.
Simple but haunting
author: Kevin BlackburnThe style is simple, clear singing and quiet supporting accompaniment. The songs are essentially ballads, story-songs - some will haunt you ('The Girl That's Never Been' for me), some will amuse ('Ladies Don't Do those Things') and some may leave you cold (ah well). I'm pleased to have bought it.
Pretty much addicting!
author: Brett VezzaniAs short as the cd may be, the songs are each wonderful works and tell extremely vivid stories. I can't wait for another cd!
Leaves you wanting more!
author: GeonnThis CD is outstanding... just enough to enjoy, but kept spare enough that I'm eagerly awaiting a second CD to be released. The music and lyrics are all just outstanding!
Wonderfully simple, superb voice, lovely songs
author: Mark LongI have only one bad thing to say about this CD. It is too short! That said, an hour would have been less than I wanted. Everything is done simply although some of the song structures show complexity. I find myself humming any of the tracks and I am happy to hear the CD again and again. The production is not quite flawless but these are 8 songs that you need. I love this CD.
