Album Notes

www,essentialsrock.com

In the world of rock ‘n roll, “unique” is a word tossed around with often reckless abandon by those desiring to be just that. All too often however, what we end up with is a reconstituted mix of what’s been done oh so many times before.

Then lo and behold along come, “The Essentials.” This New Jersey based band offers a sound that’s fresh, comfortably familiar, accessible, and yes, unique.

Their new CD, “Sunny Day,” is a fascinating and entertaining tapestry of rock, ballads, and country. Coupled with their distinctly stylistic vocals, pleasing, intelligent lyrics, and first-rate musicianship, it offers a clean break from the morass of the everyday.

The Essentials sound is entirely unpretentious and genuinely fun. It’s music for the music lover who hasn’t forgotten that above all else music is supposed to provide joy and pleasure to the listener, and its these very things that The Essentials deliver in abundance.

Here's what people are saying about, "Sunny Day:"

FROM: MICHAEL ANGEL, PODCASTER EXTRAORDINAIRE, COSMIC GRAB BAG:

“Sunny Day" takes you back to a time when people knew how to write a great song and deliver it with the kind of energy that captures your attention and respect…If you want to experience what great music used to be like and where it should be going, then The Essentials “Sunny Day” is a must hear.”

FROM: MIKE G, FAN, U.S.A.:

“Most main stream bands you get a couple of good songs and the rest of the album you can toss. With Sunny Day you can listen from beginning to end and enjoy it. It's so hard to pick a favorite song because they are all good.”

FROM: SHASHONA, INDIESHOWCASE:

“The Essentials new release Sunny Day & Other Groovy Mega Super Hits is a listeners dream album…It gives us everything we could possibly need from an album. Makes us smile, makes us think, makes us rock and just plain makes us love it… the kind of album you will play over and over!”

FROM: MR. KORAS, POLAND:

"Good luck! Your music is great!"

FROM: JEREMIAH SUTHERLAND, BULLFROG MUSIC:

"Don’t try to place this music in a style or time period, just enjoy…"

FROM: J. SILVERSTEIN, MUSIC WRITER, "THE SCENE" TX:

"Good music is essential to any serious music lover, and one band that provides this in abundance is most appropriately named, The Essentials."

FROM: JERRY INMAN, WORLDS BEST WEBCASTER, "BLUES AND BOOGIE:"

“Had the CD on the play list Monday afternoon, and it (the entire cd) has been there all week! Tracks are getting "above average" ratings by the listeners. My personal feeling is that all tracks are exceptional!”

FROM: BOB HOLT, AUTHOR/FREELANCE WRITER:

(From the Philadelphia Inquirer)

"These are talented people out there paying there dues. Before you sit down to watch, "American Idol" some night, think about supporting the idols right in your own backyard. You won't be disappointed."

It has shaken the world of music's Genre boxing clear into the second tuesday of next week! This album is an adventure into Rock heaven, but it also kisses a few other musical styles as well. Art Perry and Nancy Katz offer up amazing vocals on every track. The Songwriting that went into these tracks are well thought out, telling tales of life, love, hope and emotion that we can all relate to. Instrumentation is exceptional from start to finish. Sunny Day & Other Groovy Mega Super Hits is the kind of album you will play over and over. Nancy Katz is bringing the groove back with tunes such as "There was A time" and "Sunny Day". She rocks us with "Luckiest Girl In The World" "The Peace Song" and "I Need A Lover" done in a retro style. Nancy has a way of bringing you deep inside the music where the story lives. This girl is amazing! A soothing sexy voice, but don't be misled, this girl can rock. Art Perry is definately the rockers rocker. This guy's vocal is second to none. Art can rock you gentle or rock you hard. It doesn't matter which, he does it with ease. He can handle a ballad and have you swooning just as easily as he can rock you old school. Art shows his gentle side on tracks such as "Sideshow"," Broken Hero's", "Can I be your Hero" and "Freeman. Tracks like " Man or God", "I Don't Care", "Lamp Post Blues", "Terrytown" and "You And The USA" show Art' s wilder side. And oh how we love his wilder side! The Lead guitar played by Kevin Joella is impeccable! He guides the band and steals the spotlight on several tracks! Kevin is responsible for the engineering, mixing and mastering on this magnificent Album. He is a talented man our Kevin!! Everything he touches turns to gold! Louis Vasile masters the Bass ! His bassline is perfection! Ed Albrecht tames those drums and leads us into beat heaven. The three tracks I have chosen to single out are: 1) Sunny Day - This is a positive cheerful little track. Done in a 70's Flower power style. You will be tapping along in no time. Nancy's vocals are soothing, sexy and catchy. Backing vocals and harmonizing are fabulous! Terrific acoustic guitar work . Beautiful Instrumentation. Complete with birds singing! 2) Broken Hero's - This has got to be one of my all time favorites. Art Perry nails this song with his sexy vocals. The songwriting skills on this track raises the bar. Absolutely excellent. Nancy harmonizes with Art to give the song a fullness and completes it beautifully. Electric guitar breaks in now and then giving it a polished sound. Unmistakenly a triumph! The band works together really tight on this one, showing expertise and experience. 3) Lamp Post Blues - This is a tasty Blues/Rock number! Art doesn't disappoint the listener on this track. He rocks us till we can't rock any more! The lead guitar played by Kevin Joella is excellence in motion! Lyrics are brilliant! Nancy's backing vocals bringing the softer side to this rough and tumble song. The Band is definately 100% bought into this song and shows it. All in all, The Essentials new release Sunny Day & Other Groovy Mega Super Hits is a listeners dream album. It gives us everything we could possibly need from an Album. Makes us smile, makes us think, makes us rock and just plain makes us love it! Well done !! We love this album! We Love this band! Listen to it today!! Buy it for tomorrow! That's just how I see it Yours in the music Shashona Indie Showcase - www.indieshowcase.net AwesomeRadio - www.awesomeradio.net
