Album Notes

Essra was one of the first women to explore progressive rock in the 60's and her current music continues to break ground. She's been producing music non-stop for over 4 decades! A featured singer on Schoolhouse Rock, she sang background for Jerry Garcia, Carole King, John Mellencamp and Frank Zappa (at 19 she was the first woman in the Mothers of Invention!). Essra's songs have been recorded by Tina Turner, Peabo Bryson, Cyndi Lauper and Vanilla Fudge among many others. The music on LOVE IS STILL THE ANSWER is powerful and fresh with worldclass musicianship, masterful songwriting and Essra's soulful one of a kind voice. Her music is hotter and more relevant than ever! This newest recording is her best effort yet!! The Primordial Lovers* of the 21st Century!!

*Essra's critically acclaimed album released on Reprise in 1970. "firmly on my list of the 25 alltime best albums." - Rolling Stone

Ready For Some Good News!
author: Hippie Matt
Essra speaks the truth when she says that "Love Is Still the Answer". Here is a great lady who never forgot who she is, and never gave up on the righteous ideals and values of the 60's. Within a short time of finding out that she existed, she had gained my deepest respect as both an artist and a human being. This is an excellent collection of songs.

Truly a terrific CD........
author: Salmon Dave
Admittedly I am an Essra fan. So I know she can sing, and I know she can write.....but this batch of tunes has something really special. Some tunes lift you up......and others rip you up. I've only heard it three times......I can't wait for the fourth. Not every girl in Nashville is a cowgirl.
