Esquina 25 pays tribute to the cultural variety that characterizes the Habana street corner where Calle 25 and G, also known as Avenida de los Presidentes, meet and where Edificio Palace is located. It was around this beautiful building and in this neighborhood called El Vedado that many Cuban writers, musicians and other culture bearers flourished in the 20th century. I always go back to this place in my travels and in my dreams for inspiration.
I am especially grateful to all the brilliant musicians, composers and arrangers that worked together to create this musical kaleidoscope. This great team makes a wide spectrum of Cuban musical styles - son, bolero, rumba, guajira, trova, Afro-Cuban jazz and Lucumí chants - appear at the musical crossroads we call Esquina 25.
