Album Notes

Ethan Murray is a sensitive soul whose varying moods are reflected in his songs. His soulful voice calls for support, self affirms, and celebrates life.

Ethan's acoustic rhythm and intros are supported by relatives Greg Murray on electric guitar and Tom Murray on bass guitar. Greg and Tom were in bands together even before they were tear gassed at the first ever Rolling Stones concert in the U.S. Some excellent guest musicians also contribute to the CD.

SCARECROW is a song of fears and affirmation. WALK THE STREETS is about self discovery and doubt. Listen for the tamboura, a remnant of Greg's time as a Fulbright Scholar studying Indian music. SUDDENLY tells of a sweet coming of age but recognizes its transitory nature. TRAIN STATION is another song of self discovery. Is it a coincidence that Ethan lives next to a train station? TEARDROPS is a song of love, giving, and vulnerability. LONELY WITHOUT YOU is Ethan's version of Greg's song about love and loss. ALIVE is a rocking affirmation of love and change. PLEASE DON"T WALK AWAY was originally written as a delivery vehicle for a cappella harmonies. This solo version focuses on the transitory nature of love. CHANGED WORLD - Ethan and guitar comment on the post 9-11 situation. DON"T WAIT FOR ME is a well crafted jazzy instrumental by Greg that brought smiles of pleasure to the studio musicians who contributed.

We hope you'll enjoy hearing these as much as we did making them.
