Album Notes

Ether is the name of a musical project started a few years ago in a lounge room in front of the TV.

It was an outlet that allowed me to write and record songs of my own and also have a drink on a Friday night after work.

I started the project with a friend named Paul Hardman and together we made a CD in his home, which we simply entitled Ether. That featured songs of Paul's, mine and another friend named Glenn.

We all now live in different cities but the project continues on with me. I will have a new album out shortly which will feature the talents of Dave Kelly from Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts and Doug Sandrini and Craig Grech from Pure Acoustic. This will be titled The Great Ocean Road and if all goes well it will be available in late July 2002.

For those of you that don't know the Great Ocean Road is a glorious winding road that goes along Australia's south coast and overlooks the Southern Pacific Ocean.

What happened before Ether?

Lots of bands and lots of living I guess you could say. By far the longest time I have spent with any band has been in Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts. One way or another I have been playing with them for 10 years. (due for parole next year) There have been a whole lot of lesser, unfortunately unsuccessful bands before these. Without boring you to drink, some of the names include, The Getaway Plane, Beyond Recall, Spanish Holiday and the Bliss Bombs. Some bands have been great and some so bad I was lucky to avoid a jail sentence.

With Ether I have tried to go for a natural acoustic sound and that is the reason for getting Doug and Craig to play on the album. I have used every single guitar legally available to me on this latest recording so you will hear a lot of different acoustic sounds. I got Dave along simply because he said he would hit me if I didn't let him, so it was either my jaw or the drums.
