These songs are often sad songs, but they're also songs of great hope.
They are songs in different languages that come to us across years and generations and cultures, but that are also international and timeless and universal and endlessly relevant to all of us.
When we think of music with African, Greek or Australian backgrounds, we firstly think of music that dances. But this is beautiful music for contemplation and thinking and dreaming. And it is music that also moves us ... to dance and act.
Rene and Etienne's voices inter-twine and blend so well in these songs that they sing in one voice while speaking different languages. Their music and their words complement each other perfectly, as they sing of the complementary ideas of hope and freedom.
