Album Notes

"Heather and Nicholas use drums, guitars and a sassy sense of abstraction to make you fall for their music. Most pop groups favor straightforward songs and leave the wild stuff to Wire, the Fall and others, which gives Eux Autres an even more magical beauty. They're a Sarah band to the ears, but drunk madmen to the soul -- a perfect combination I had heretofore overlooked." -Splendid E-Zine

"Hovering somewhere between a high-school French-class assignment and Thee Headcoats is the debut single from this Portland, Ore., duo....The brother sister team plays three chord garage pop that hangs on a raunchy guitar line and crisp production from Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Quasi)." -MAGNET Magazine

"[Eux Autres] put out this EP built on some good old fasioned sparse garage-pop aesthetics. 'Partick Nil,' is really catchy in one of those simple, sneaky sort of ways...after two or three spins on the turntable, the song seems to get the head bobbing and the toes tapping." -Delusions of Adequacy

ABOUT THE BAND:

Eux Autres, the Omaha-born, Portland-based duo, channels sixties French pop and gives it a unique sensibility. The stylish brother/sister duo, Heather and Nicholas Larimer, share lead vocals with Heather on drums and Nicholas on guitar.

The Larimers' music favors melody, with compelling vocals in call and response. These vocal textures are underscored by lyrics that manage to be clever without being precious, treating subjects that range from Spanish imperialism to romantic angst, French politics to soccer.

Eux Autres' debut seven-inch, recorded by Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney/Quasi, is now available.
