Album Notes

eva jo put together her first band at the age of 12. their hit song in junior high, featuring a keyboard with drum machine effects, was a quasi-rap entitled, "stop the pollution".

although she still wears leg-warmers, she feels she's come a long way since 1988. her first album was recorded in bangkok, thailand, with the help of a couple of incredibly talented musicians from the indie punk band "sepia". imagining herself as a casualty of postmodernism, she included such tunes as "naughty girls" (track #1), a salute to the unionized dancers at the lusty lady in san francisco, and "faith" (track #3), a ballad about dating and ridiculously high rents. the hard hitting "PM3" (track #4) is just one more dirge for pomos. and who doesn't love serge gainsbourg? (track #10)

"into the sunset" is eva jo's second full length release. produced by mark robertson, it features a wide range of instrumentation inspired by her band, making dinner. from the raging piano riffs on "out of ohio" (track #2) to the soaring cellos on the title track (track #11), this album will make you want to run to the beach!
