On Evan Brubaker's second album, Half Moon, he splatters Pop, Folk, and Funk on the wall like a Jackson Pollack painting, creating a sexy canvas of upright bass, clavinet, drum loops, pedal steel and strings. Hanging quirky, intelligent lyrics on strong hooks, Brubaker twists the everyday into a funhouse reflection of itself.

Produced by Evan Brubaker, Half Moon features performances by keyboardist Julie Wolf (Laura Love, Ani Difranco), bassist Jason Mercer (Ron Sexsmith, Ani Difranco), and drummer Andy Stochansky (John Gorka, Ani Difranco) as well as noted session players Susan Pascal (vibes), Daniel Salini (strings), and Dan Tyack (pedal steel). Recorded in Toronto at Reaction Studios, the album was mixed by The A-Team at Spectre Studios.

Brubaker trained at the Oberlin Conservatory before working as a sound man and guitar tech for guitar legend Michael Hedges from 1992-1997. Half Moon is the follow-up to his 1997 release, Third Floor, which was selected by Performing Songwriter Magazine as one of the Top 12 Independent Records of 1997.
