Why Stride?
"You get that right tickin' rhythm, man, and its ON!"
--Fats Waller

In its heydey, nearly 90 years ago, this jazz reflected
and celebrated emancipation from the old world form.

Since today this emancipation continues as freedom spreads
around the world, this album serves as a celebration of
our freedom enshirned in this unique American musical form.

This album came about as a result of regular and persistent requests
in response to Evan's regular piano video posts at: www.youtube.com/heavydutyfats

Special Thanks to the talented Miss Elizabeth, Dimitri Moderbacher,
and Rick Bogart.

Finding His Stride

If you like early jazz (eubie blake, fats waller, etc) you will LOVE this CD. Actually, you don't even need to like jazz at all!! You could probably not even like music and still find this CD to be fantastic. And no, I am not a relative of Evan Palazzo nor do I even know him. This is purely a review based on immense delight of having discovered this CD and performer. "Finding His Stride" captures the lyrical sound and the energy of some classic earlier tunes. I fell in love with this CD-bought two of them and will be buying more. As a person who has played the piano for many years, my hat is off to Evan. Great interpretation of some wonderful old tunes.
