I love the concept. I love the lyrics of the songs I can understand.
But I have 65-year-old ears, and on lots of these songs I find that the music overpowers my ability to understand the words - - which is why I bought the album in the first place. But when you finally get them understood, they are great. I go around singing "May you be happy. May you be safe..."

finally some Western Buddhist music

As a Western Buddhist and lover of folk pop style music, I'm thrilled to have found this cd, courtesy of the Tricycle magazine review. All of the lyrics are excellent and several of the songs have catchy tunes. I particularly like "generosity". I hope that this starts a new trend of American Buddhist music! Thanks, Eve.

This one is less jaunty and more thought-provoking than some of the music I've heard from Eve in the past (you can always recognize her touch on Rebecca Riots songs) but I really like it, and I like it more and more every time I listen. I love that she's found a way to combine her practice of Buddhism and her great musical talent. Wonderful, singable songs that are a joy to listen to.
And above all, like everything else I have heard from her, the love shines through.
