Event is an upcoming West-coast Hip-Hop artist. Discovered by JL Management and Harold "Scrap" Fretty (Co-Producer of 2Pac's "Only God Can Judge Me"), Event started popping up on the Hip-Hop scene in 2005. In 2006 he released a 5 track demo which was almost entirely produced by Harold "Scrap" Fretty and featured classics like "Pawnshop" and "Gorilla Pimpin" which later on proved to have a inspirational impact on the Hip-Hop community do to the fact that many of the ideas on the "Major Players EP" that came from Event and his Producer Scrap began to grasp the attention of underground and mainstream artists in the Rap game which resulted in the unlawful use of theese concepts. In late 2006, Event released "Major Players: The Mixtape Vol. 1" which featured Sly Boogy on the single titled "Major Players" as well as "Fire it up". The mixtape also featured songs by artists such as Crooked I, Pharrell Williams, Styles P, I.G.T., Tragedy Kadafi, Termanology, M1, G. Malone, DC, Young Hoggs, Tom Gist, Hasan and Event himself and many more. Althogh Event is new to the Rap game, his fanbase has been growing rapidly thru the U.S. and beyond, reaching out to Canada, Europe and Japan.



Bio

Event was born Anton Iagounov in the mid 80's in Moscow, Russia around the same time Communism came to an end. His father was an independant film director and his mother was following in the footsteps of her father Sergey Martinson who was one of the most known and respected actors in Russian history, loved by the people and dispised by Joseph Stalin as well as Adolf Hitler. When Event was only 8 years old his father was murdered and his mother decided that coming to the U.S. was the only option do to the circumstances they were subjected to in Russia at the time. The Russian government would not allow for anyone to come to the U.S. that easily since that's were everyone dreamed of coming too, so instead his mother and he came to Mexico and with his mother's resourcefulness they were able to cross into the U.S. thru Mexico. Since 1993 Event has been learning to use Hip-Hop as a tool to bring attention and awareness to the ever changing state of the society and world we live in.


Career

Between 2001 and 2004 Event had recorded and released over 3 albums worth of material under different names and only became "Event" when he signed a management agreement with JL Management in 2005 and started working with one of Tupac Shakur's Producers Harold "Scrap" Fretty who Co-Produced "Only God Can Judge Me" from 2pac's Album "All Eye'z On Me". In 2006 Event began to negotiate a recording contract with an independent record label but later on decided that the deal wasn't in his best interest and went his own way to pursue better opportunities. In early 2007 he then met with the legendary Father MC and discussed a possible buisness venture but once again realized that was not the route he wanted to go.


Current Situation

Event is working on an Album and a DVD Documentary which will be released worlwide but no official date has been set. Event has been doing shows, pushing his own mixtape which he previously released in 2006, Producing, Recording and showing up all over the mixtape scene. He has canceled his management agreement with JL Management and is now free of any contracts and is pursuing the majors.
