Album Notes

Evergreen is an exciting and well known name for Celtic music in Israel. Based in the Galilee, the band draws inspiration from all strands of the rich Celtic tapestry, the music of Israel, and its wide-ranging repertoire is enhanced by many other musical influences from their different backgrounds as well as their own original material.

Classically trained musicians steeped in the magic of Irish and other Celtic folk cultures, Evergreen - Michal and Gal Shachar were joined in 2001 by Abe Doron, former percussionist of the Riverdance show on New York’s Broadway and world tours and by Jazz guitarist Moshe Avigdor. That same year they performed the soundtrack for the successful Israeli movie `The Late Wedding’, which was nominated in the Oscars for best Foreign film.

2002 saw the release of Evergreen’s first dynamic CD, `Riding Towards Life’, with a video clip of the title song,
With over 300 performances in many festivals and theatres, and appearances in TV and radio in different countries, the Evergreen family strated working on the Unseen dance, after 18 months of work the band released the new album in 2006.
