Album Notes

Dr mastermind was an afterthought, a sequel, a hey lets do it another way with – other people – like a hot love affair in the midst of a great marriage!
Evil genius was the only real band matt was in complete with bandhouse crabby roomate bassist, dog and a basement and shower that resembled a set from a movie or .. halloween haunted house.. they took limos, they wore they same hair and costume if this was the flinstones theyd be the way outs… inspired by the movie spinal tap and thouroughly disgusted wuth the so called record labels attempt at keeping out anyone who was not ready for a sex change operation or a stint as a dancer at a trnasvestite bar(they were big manlymen) we decided to go at it from a different angle And have fun.. and we did…! wild dogs was over for me at the time. I discovered that as I brought new songs to the dogs, something was in the air...
So as I had most of my contribution to the third dogs album I took thoise and grabbed my pal kip doran a fine shenker styled player and started another band!and teh dogs had found themeself a skinny gitrlie man to try and do my job...
A few months later when the “new singer didn’t work out I got san early morning call to go to californina for a few wild dogs dates with yngwie and talas- so.. ooff to the airport was i…to hget a rental car(the singer john tejeda was probably tired of the crowds booing him and holding signs that werent contributions to his ego...
Loads of fun yngwie was on the rising force tour.,.. and the dogs played some of this material in our short lived re union after the first gigs and before the last where I planned an esscape due to non communicative bandmates but i kepot the new look shoulder pads and spikes and all.
These are the original songs worked out with a band, and adding mentor guitarist jake shit on second lead we were a double axe attack! Like superheroes,, we got away with parking on the curb and did a few high profile gigs until the dreaded shopping for a label and then it was all.. lets change this member oir change the vision a agood group of fellas- see, im honest and I relate whatis said to me,.,, hoping the group will be a group .. but nope the 6 months we did this band in the house was fun- then I moved to the villa- yes the same place as the song on dr mastermind….. it was all real and quite a party(i was in mayhem at this tiome as well) that’s when I joined up with mayhem and did an album wiuth them that summer and played gigs with hirax, raw power, exodus nad megadeth king diamond on the peace sells tour- COOL so
Here it is finallyt the official release and titled fittingly id say…
Dr mastermind must die the evil genius lives when it came roudn to dr mastermind sessions i had to drop the evil part and become a dr. every mothers dream right?
Comsequently if you look up the japanese 80’s band rommel they were fans of ours and actually did their stage set up righteous kurt james joined them for a tour of japan and did all mastermind /evil genius tunes- and again—IM LEFT OUT boo hoo but itme heals all and ive takern the bandages off.. dr mastermind -the evil genius diod their first successful gig in portland at the famed club satyricon last week.....

Hey it was recorded at recording associates with famous engoineer bob stoutenburg the guy who did wild dogs i was house producer at the time and brought in a few acts – cheers!
these are the raw form songs which i prefer although dr mastermind kicks some serious bootay!
youll hear a hum on one song thats in the recording for some reason.. but its a good song and i left it so it isnt a defect... its just a bad wire turns out.. but its about the music not the sonic quality i cant affford... never to be heard on radio so... here ya go...the guitar is delicious

the blueprint for dr mastermind rules!
author: major metal
as a huge Dr Mastermind Fanatic and deen fan I must say this original effort of mccourt just as he was leaving the wild dogs(actually told me this was his offering for wild dogs number 3 but it had no "chick hits" on it..so off he went and made this wonderful gem that was turned down by many of the days indie labels and is now finally available all the songs ive come to love on Dr Mastermind are here but with a two guitar approach ala maiden and priest and scorpions. in rebellion to the "imnage conscious dogs" the entire band wore the same exact longhair wig and costume this album has classic material and now im torn between the two versions! long live teh evil genius! dr mastermind must NOT die!
