About the Artist
EXEGESIS is a jazz/electronic music ensemble based out of Brooklyn, NY. This ensemble plays original compositions that stress adventurous improvizations and unique textural layers.

Album Description
This is the first release by Exegesis, an instrumental ensemble based out of Brooklyn, NY. While the music on this album is definately jazz, it has obvious references to science fiction, including "Footnote," a sound collage of spoken text taken from Phillip K. Dick's memoires read in a Stepen Hawking type voice. These influences appear in the music as well, with acoustic bass and hollow body guitar going through looping devices and other effect proccesors that morph their sounds into unrecognizable and indescribeable timbes. The music is always melodic however, and the performances are virtuostic throughout this recording. This record features Matt Otto/tenor sax, Nick Demopoulos/guitar, Danton Boller/bass, Greg Gonzalez/drums, Marc Ferber/drums and Mentol Nomad/DJ.
