Album Notes

Violent, sexual, honest, and heavy as hell.

Since 2003 Exemption has been carving its name into the Long Island scene one show at a time. Combining precision, ferocity, soul, and skill, Exemption has managed to create a sound all their own that fans of anything under the Rock and Roll roof can appreciate. Not concerned with any trends, Exemption plays the music they want to play and has compiled a diehard fan base over the last few years, that grows steadily with each show.

With their most recent full-length, self-released album, “The Rabbit Hole (2007),” Exemption has brought their sound to a new level of ability and independence. It has been written, recorded, mixed, designed, and promoted all by the band themselves with only some occasional help from supportive friends. The album was featured in the “New Noise” section of Live-Metal.net and was voted Ultimate-Guitar.com’s best “Unsigned Band of the Month” for February 2008. The album is now available on iTunes and CDBaby.com/cd/exemption.

Exemption has shared stages with the likes of The Misfits, Byzantine, L.A. Guns, Dry Kill Logic, Slaughter, and Rhino Bucket as well as countless talented, unsigned, and underappreciated bands in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina and they are continuing to try to reach new people everyday.

The band plans to release an E.P. full of some of their best new material, showcasing some of their most mature and focused songs to date in later winter 2008.

"...quite possibly you've stumbled onto the bastard children of The Beatles."
- The Metal Den review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"When Exemption isn't rocking your face off with bashing riffs they're boogieing and bluesing. I haven't heard a more diverse band in recent memory."
- Live-Metal.net review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"Exemption have somehow uncovered that sweet spot that enables the band to epitomise the precise, yet raw sound that only very few three-pieces have captured over the years. This band does New York’s divine musical dynasty proud...." - Ultimate-Guitar.com review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"This trio of eighteen year olds will blow you away. I haven't heard a band this impressive in a long, LONG time! Think Clutch meets Black Sabbath with a side of Pantera."
- M.T. Head Records review of "The Rabbit Hole"

Impressive

The Rabbit Hole is a very impressive album, especially given the young age of Exemption. Their riff-driven music features some truly exceptional guitarwork. Some highlights on the album are Hot Sauce, Tiempo Cura Tiempo Malta, Chunderpuss, and Swing Darling. Chunderpuss in particular showcases the diversity of Exemption's music, taking a more slick, laid-back tempo and opening with a mind-blowing bluesy solo. I truly look forward to more amazing material from this young, ridiculously talented band!
