ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Violent, sexual, honest, and heavy as hell.

Since 2003 Exemption has been carving its name into the Long Island scene one show at a time. Combining precision, ferocity, soul, and skill, Exemption has managed to create a sound all their own that fans of anything under the Rock and Roll roof can appreciate. Not concerned with any trends, Exemption plays the music they want to play and has compiled a diehard fan base over the last few years, that grows steadily with each show.

With their most recent full-length, self-released album, “The Rabbit Hole (2007),” Exemption has brought their sound to a new level of ability and independence. It has been written, recorded, mixed, designed, and promoted all by the band themselves with only some occasional help from supportive friends. The album was featured in the “New Noise” section of Live-Metal.net and was voted Ultimate-Guitar.com’s best “Unsigned Band of the Month” for February 2008. The album is now available on iTunes and CDBaby.com/cd/exemption.

Exemption has shared stages with the likes of The Misfits, Byzantine, L.A. Guns, Dry Kill Logic, Slaughter, and Rhino Bucket as well as countless talented, unsigned, and underappreciated bands in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina and they are continuing to try to reach new people everyday.

The band plans to release an E.P. full of some of their best new material, showcasing some of their most mature and focused songs to date in later winter 2008.

All questions, comments, booking inquiries, and love/hate mail can be directed to Nick at: KillNickLee@aim.com or you can just message them.

Recommended if you enjoy any of the following: Black Sabbath, Pantera, Clutch, Down, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Slayer, Mastodon, The Bronx, Corrosion of Conformity, Pelican, Jimi Hendrix, sex, music, and hot sauce.

"...quite possibly you've stumbled onto the bastard children of The Beatles."
- The Metal Den review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"When Exemption isn't rocking your face off with bashing riffs they're boogieing and bluesing. I haven't heard a more diverse band in recent memory."
- Live-Metal.net review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"Exemption have somehow uncovered that sweet spot that enables the band to epitomise the precise, yet raw sound that only very few three-pieces have captured over the years. This band does New York’s divine musical dynasty proud...." - Ultimate-Guitar.com review of "The Rabbit Hole"

"This trio of eighteen year olds will blow you away. I haven't heard a band this impressive in a long, LONG time! Think Clutch meets Black Sabbath with a side of Pantera."
- M.T. Head Records review of "The Rabbit Hole"

Sonorous, Novel and Aesthetic
The members of Exemption are no less than virtuoso in this album. Their songs are a medley and eclectic while still satisfying their strong metal roots. Their music is not impinged by fads or trends and is truly ornate and panegyric.

This Exemption album, for lack of a better adjective, rocks! If I am in the mood for pure, unadulterated, metal, I automatically put in The Rabbit Hole. It pays homage to the greats without going over board. My favorite part of the whole album is the drummer. He's awe inspiring!

THIS CD ROCKS!!!
I listen to a very wide variety of music and have loved this CD since I bought it a few weeks ago. I fist saw Exemption at a local bar and thought, whatever quality separates garage bands from the pros, this band has it. The guitar is ripping, the drums thunderous, the bass and the vocals are raw and sincere. The CD is now part of my permanent music collection, and I recommend it to anyone who likes fast and furious sounds. Check out the demos on their MySpace page. I give an this recording a 9 out of 10. My favorite songs not released in demo form are Honey Glazed Lucifer and Swing My Darlin. Already I can't wait to hear more from this edgy, funky, well polished trio of heavy metal gods who have only just begun to spread their wings.
