Sense of Adventure - 25th Anniversary Remaster Edition

As we finally begin work on our follow up to 2005's "Random Thoughts of a Raving Lunatic" (also available through CD Baby and their many fine digital partners) we offer this piece of nostalgia for those of you who like 1970/80's "Harder Edged" Classic Rock as much as we do.

Originally released on vinyl in 1986, the LP featured the golden tones of Tony Tarleton on Lead & Background vocals and Percussion, Maurice Kelly on Lead, Rhythm, Bass & Acoustic Guitars, Lead & Background Vocals and Steve Ward on Drums (and opening Maurice's beer cause his hands got very tired from all of the above). Now, 25 years later, we have remastered this to prove to our kids that we really could play back then. That and a weird turn of events which sees unopened original pressings of the vinyl LP now selling for foolish amounts on various collector sites in Canada, the US, Europe, and as far away as Russia! Who would have thunk it?

Several of these songs had been mainstays of our live show but the two that received airplay were new songs just written in time for the sessions. "Endless Night", a straight ahead song that's driven from start to finish, and "I Have No Heart", a beautiful Tony Tarleton penned ballad which received a great deal of local airplay and remained in regular rotation for several months. Have a listen - we're not kidding about the "golden tones". (Not to mention some very fine acoustic work from Mr. Kelly)

The remainder of this album is made up of harder edged songs complete with wailing guitars blasting through a Marshall amp, pounding double bass drums, the occasional 80's "big hair synth fills", great (and we mean great!) vocal performances , and even a pan flute solo in the obligatory 80' power ballad - "Love's Illusion" (you just had to do at least one power ballad in those days!)

For this, our 25th Anniversary reissue, we have also included a very fine live rendition of the Jimi Hendrix classic "Purple Haze" which is joined to one of our own songs "Where Do We Go" by a blistering live solo by Maurice which even includes, at one point, the "Theme from Bonanza" (if you're old enough to remember that show). Finally we have included a demo of a song called "Dreamer" which came out of the Random Thoughts sessions in 2005 but was never finished to be included on that CD. While it is only a demo we liked this version so much we have included it here. So buy - or download a copy - get some beers and - TURN EM ALL TO 11 !!
