gettin' filthy
author: todd bilbreyGood to very good. If you like Slightly stoopid or sublime you will most likly like them. Love a bowl for two, not sure if it is a love song or what? The metal part is better than slightly stoopid, more metal than punk. I Like slightly stoopid a little more.
Gettin' Filthy
author: Thomas OlsenAwesome, must have, you'll love it.
Would you like to know whats on my mind?
author: katie mckampsonThe Expendables. Thats who. Listen to the song. You may n believe what Ive got to say about it, so just listen. I garuntee itll be the best twelve something dollars you ever spent on music not from the 70's in a long time. Just listen to the music....
Its like laying on the beach, smokin the reef, and making out all at once.
author: KatieIts been a long time since a band has combined so many different sounds so succesfully. I came across it in a burnt version on my friends 21st birthday and it ended up the soundtrack of the night, and the night after that, and the night after that..... The cd got played and passed around until it was finally, and sadly, broken. But, if you have heard the cd, you know why its was a scramble to get a new one, lo and behold, they were sold out. NOT ANYMORE!!!
Love it. Makes me want to go to the beach.
author: ElyseThis CD is great. Its my first by the artist and based on this one, I'll be buying more. Has a great mix of reggae, punk and ska. Great lyrics and music.
Remember the Expendables, you won't regret it
author: AndrewI remember hearing these guys back in the early days of high school. Some friends of mine opened for these guys and they are simply bangin. They've got that Sublime feel, but the lyrics are not what you'd expect from a reggae song. I think Bowl For Two is a pothead's love song, and I play it for my girlfriend all of the time. This CD has a great blend of reggae, some faster punkish songs and a little bit of ska and dub thrown in. Incredible CD that is a must by. Probably the greatest band that no one has heard of.
chillinest reggae
author: Barkleysuch good reggae sound that is great to sit and look at tha ocean or stars..and tha punk songs add an extra dimension to a mostly chill cd..
CD is a must have!
author: Ian SmartThis CD couldnt be better. I have seen The Expendables live twice and their unique blend of reggae/rock always puts me in a mellow mood. I am from Orange County but moved away, but when I hear this CD it brings me right back to the beach.

author: KBYou are all fat, but thats why i love you so much. Except raul sucks becasue he plays filthy riffs with his fucking eyes closed
AWESOME CD!!!
author: JasmineWow "Gettin' Filthy" is full of honest, inspiring lyrics and talented musicianship. "Sacrafice" is powerful, but "Would You Like to Know" and "Jenny" are the most beautiful songs on the record, oozing with a vibe of deeper sensuality, while touching on the aphrehension we all sometimes feel as lovers. This CD fucking rocks, there is not one weak song on it!
Love It!
author: DaisyI think this is your best cd yet! I had to buy it twice, one for the office and one for the car! You guys are great, keep the good music coming!
Great FRESH music!!
author: JeffI'm walking around a mall in S. Cal and I pop in a Hot Topic store, look around a little and leave. As I am leaving I return and ask the employees who the band is that they are playing. 3 days later, thanks to CD-Baby I am cruising happy that I discovered the Expendables!!! Just good fresh tight music.

author: John Brito-BlendMasters Records@http://www.angelfire.com/dragon3That's not fair,I was supposed to be like first to review this and stuff,oh my god!superb guitar work, hey I did something I call John Brito:Superimpostion, alright,I just can't believe that someone beat me to reviewing you, anyway I heard one track and I definitely know I heard it on the radio, music is like that though,we make it,put it out and everyone relates, great job, keep it up
fabulous
author: Danielle from the east sideI love this CD.
Great beats, something for any Californian
author: Jim H.First track could easily be a single on the radio. Not sure why it isn't already. There are at least 5 tracks that are instantly able to vibe with. The rest just get better everytime I hear the album. Great work.
The different sound, you were looking for!!!!
author: RyanIf your sick of all of your cd's and hear the same shit on ANY radio station you listen to this cd is for you!
Groovin'.. Chillin'.. Bouncin'.. Rockin'..
author: Rob in PHXMuch like O.A.R. came out of nowhere and slapped me upside the head three years ago, here's the Expendables. Never heard of them here in wilderness of Phoenix, but a friend of mine with Cali connections turned me on to this CD.. She played "Bowl for Two" and "Let Her Go" for me, and I was hooked. The whole CD is great from beginning to end, hitting varied styles along the way.. Main course is the laid back dub.. side order of slamdancing punk.. couple straight on rock tunes for dessert.. hell, even an interesting jazzy vegasy reggae-ish song for an after dinner mint. Nice deep bass lines throughout.. tight vocals... why isn't this band known nationwide??
Love It...
author: Tara MarieThis CD is so chill...
Good Times...
author: TylerThis CD has the most chill music. ROAD TRIP CD FOR SURE!!! GET IT, its awesome!
ridiculous
author: maverickthis band is sooo sick....great for just chillin on a hot summer day
so smooth
author: JesseEvery damn song on this cd fuckin rocks! I don't know why these guys haven't reached the top 100. Its just a matter of time before everyone knows who they are. I compare the Expendables to the likes of Sublime. They just have that smooth, relaxing essence that you can really feel and relate to. My favs are Sacrifice, Bridges burned, let her go, bowl for two, The cam song, and Filthy dub. Definately my favorite cd right now, good cd to blaze one to as well.

My New Favorite CD
author: MJThis is the best CD I have heard in a long time. The entire CD is great, I never skip a song. This CD rocks! I can't wait to hear them in concert. Gettin' Filthy is definitely a CD to buy.
wow
author: aliThis cd FUCKING ROCKS!!!!!
- author: Sango
I was stunned by the Expendables, "Gettin' Filthy". Every track is incredible and it all goes together like the theme albums of old. I feel it ranks with Greenday's "American Idiot" (another outstanding album). Why isn't this album a nation wide hit? I never thought I would be as excited about any new albums as I am about these two. I am a 53 year old "Classic Rocker Audiophile" who believed there is nothing new worth listenin to. I stand corrected!! To top it off, the Expendables hail from Soquel High School as do I, (though our graduating classes are a few years apart). My final comment is please make these two albums available on Vinyl. There I go showing my age again. Buy this album and make other listen to it!!
They're great in concert, and the CD is totally awesome!
author: WillyThe Expendables: Gettin Filthy CD is the best cd I own!
Great CD -- Check out Open Container as well
author: DerekI bought this Cd after seeing these guys rock the catalyst in SC and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend going out and seeing these guys play live, its quite an experience.
Awesome
author: MarkoThis is one of the best cds ever made. When I was first given this cd I couldnt take it out of my cd player. Any party or anything where music was playing we had to insert it in and people have fallin in live with it. This group is the one band that I can listen to without skipping a track on any of the cds.
best CD i have ever heard
author: Jenthis CD is so awesome! Expendables are an great band that deserve every good praise they recieve. i have seen them live plenty of times and no matter what they never fail to give a great show! support them and get the CD, you wont regret it.;)
Awesome!
author: AndyIf you love the Sublime/Pepper/Slightly Stoopid genre, this album is for you! Great variation in the songs keeps the tracks fresh, which can be a downfall for groups trying to fit into this genre. A few songs (Silver Stallion) seemed to have uninspired lyrics, but most are great. I'm looking forward to the next album!
I Creamed in My pants listening to this bad a$$$ rock
author: TommyJ's MUSIC ReviewSGreat cd! It makes you want to get up! I just luv it!
Great, unique music, my friends and family love it!!!
author: AnthonyTight squeeze, a combination of reggae and rock. This CD is a must have.
its fuckin awesome dude
author: Jessieeverything you could expect from the expendables, just newer shit, it still kicks ass though.
Most unique sound that I have heard in a long time. BAD-ASS!
author: R. Bennett, Colo SpringsGreat album. Best part about it is that they are even better live.
simply dubuliscious !!
author: Vince Slavinski (Montreal, QC, CAN)They Totally did it, I mean this is a true dub/punk album all the way !! Sacrifice, Thight Squeeze and Let Her Go are really solid, too strong. The sound, the vocals are awesome, Geoff and Adam team-up perfectly. I also like the rock/metal spin they fit in once in a while. I recommand this CD to every dub fan out there. From Montreal, Vince.
Love it :)
author: LouisaI saw The Expendables in Sep @ The Catalyst in SC, they were awesome!! I love their new CD!! xoxo
euphoria
author: SandManIve heard that they are ROCK, Ive heard that they are RAGGAE, and Ive heard that they are PUNK...they arent any of those. They are simply pure musical euphoria. Their songs are submersing and full of lyrical genius. Tunes that will enervate all other functions except your lustful brain. You cant go wrong with the GETTIN FILTHY CD and a nice spliff. Nothing else could set the mood better. I know we all have baught that CD that when we listened to it we felt like we wasted our money, but for like $12 this is a steal! 20 tracks of incredibly devine music. You cant possibly get any better than that. To keep my rambling to a minimum Ill end with this: "The Expendables* are fucking incredible"
massive
author: paulo felixwhat a brilliant cd. this band has the ability of blending different styles together and creating a MASSIVE cocktail of good music. thanks to cd baby i was able to purchase this cd, because i live in the u.k. is difficult to get the cds from this band. is only a place in the net where you can find them{ some surf shop} but they only ship to the states!!!!! i just wish that this guys put the two other cds{ no time to worry & open container }here on cd baby. gettin' filthy is a cd full of brilliant songs from start to finish, highly recommended.
- author: Leroy/GiantsFan/Teach
This album is awsome and enjoy sitting back and listening to it! It has got everything you want in a cd. It's got the great/catchy reggae tunes to groove with all the ladies at shows, the pogo dancing/athletic slamming speed songs, and the mind stimulating jazzy guitar riffs one would want. Make sure you catch them at a local tavern because in a year or so, it will be gone and they will be playing to bigger audiences!
- author: Leroy/GiantsFan/Teach
The long anticipated release of the new Expendables cd. Why is it long awaited? Because the fans are wanting MORE! The Expendables deliver in their new cd. It has it all, the groovy reagae sounds to groove with your baby to and get closer to the groovy gals at shows. The fist smacking, pogo dancing, athletic marching songs in a punk key. Some mellow guitar songs to relax to. This is the album to get The Expendables over the top and that will expand their fan base further than the coast. Try and catch a show real soon cause after the year, it will be tough to catch them in their rawness of a small club show.
even great things improve with experience...
author: weegeI think the thing I noticed most about Gettin Filthy is maturity and the ability to be honest about their experiences. I mean like they are more comfortable with their expression. It's not emotional, you get older and you see things different, that's all. This is still a good times Expendables album nonetheless, but I've noticed they've opened their playbook and are throwing in some trick plays. I mean "Jenny" is one of the coolest jazz/reggae crossovers I've heard in my life. I'm so stoked on the "Die For You" reprise. I've played the CD 3 times now in one day. And the songs that stick the most "Let her go", "Mistakes", "Would you like to know" and "My way out". That's a good sign. I think what some of the older fans are feeling is that there is change. Some people can't live with change. But it will grow on you. It already has grown on me. I'm hearing that the Expendables have grown and are expanding their style and are not afraid to experiment. By the way, I was always bummed you guys never put "Bowl for Two" on Open Container. But now that I hear this version I realize, it was worth the wait. "Party at the Moontower" was also refreshing to hear some of the metal/surf mixture. Anyway, I love the CD. Not just cause I dig the songs but because I feel like you guys reached out and tried something different. On top of that I think the CD overall can reach new audiences, old audiences, and offers a good blend of different music. There is a little something for everyone. Production quality was great. But I really liked the vocal production. That was key. You guys have taken your harmonies up a notch. Overall it sounds great, I liked a lot of the leads on guitar, which normally aint my thing. But I felt like they were well written and fit the songs perfectly. The "Filthy Dub" had killer bass tones. I really dug that a lot. When it comes to dub the bass and drums have to be on point and I think whoever produced it definitely captured that. Good job guys. I would have liked to have heard some more percussions. Steel drums, congas and bongos, timbales, shakers and what not. There were a few times where I got this Steel Pulse vibe. I really dug that. Anyway....yeah I loved the CD.
some damn good music.
author: Amandai love the new cd!!!! I cant stop listening to it! I like how its kinda more laid back then the other 2 cd's. Well keep up the good music and hope to see you guys play in SC soon.
This collection of tunes will have a broad appeal.
author: George DeMarsThese guys have a very unique sound blending Reagge with 80's inspired Hard Rock riffs that will set you off. There is a definite influence from Marley but there is also evidence that the band has been influenced by the likes of Santana, AC/DC with a little Dick Dale and Sublime thrown in as well. Their lyrics are meaningful and come from the heart and the music has a wide variety so every song sounds unique. The only track that is a cover is from the Highwaymen Johnny Cash's Silver Stallion which rocks from the first note to the last. Right now it's the only CD I've been listening to... You have to check this out.
greatest band ever
author: pamthis cd is the most insightful out of the three. the songs seem like the have so much feeling behind them. if you know the song 'die for you', you'll love the reprise of it. there is no bad song on this whole cd. too bad there aren't any hidden tracks, though. I LOVE IT more than my own life almost!!
