Album Notes

It has been 4 years now and the Los Angeles based band Exploiting Eve has their first full length LP entitled "Getting Thru." With the addition of a second guitar player, countless live shows in the Los Angeles and Orange County music scenes, Exploiting Eve has a harder, more sophisticated rock sound giving light to influences like Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden and Tracey Bohnam.

The band's evolution into music maturity is evident.

There are hints of the band's early song writing style like "Lamela Pee" from their first EP "Softer than Sound," in a straight ahead, raw rock sound of tunes like "A Word in Edgewise" and "Hang from my Line." But a new, more detailed, melody driven sound emerges from the band with tunes like "Out in the Rain" and "1000 Days," displaying the band's apparent "cross-over" ability into all formats of commercial radio.

Solidified with a rhythm section of Vincent Ramos on bass and Andres Ramos on drums the band produces an identifiable, but uniquely-their-own sound.

Victor Lozano's and John Vastano's beefy style of guitar playing in the roots of early Alternative Rock, provide an ideal and original foundation for the moody, rich, female rock vocals of Janelle Barreto.

Exploiting Eve has been included in Music Connection's "Hottest Unsigned Bands for 2000," and has been awarded "Best Alternative Rock Band" by LA's Rock City News.
