Three years of hard labor finally paid off. Now, we ought to reap what "Extremely Normal“ have sown, their Debut "Between Nine And Twelve“ has hit the shelves.

The first track "Can you remember“ defines the overall tone of the album. Keyboard-driven Pop, striking melodies and witty chords rear their heads in almost every tune, yet never sacrifying the message of this special band: song.

The foundation for this experimental melange is the tight synchronicity between Bassist Marco Menzel and Drumwhiz Sebastian Schmitz. Bastian Müller’s soundscapes and piano artistry support Christian Ehmer’s guitars. Yet the center of the stage is literally owned by the lady on the mic: Petra Wirges, whose astounding vocal range and choral layering is hardly matched.
The sound definitely tips ist hat to the eighties, one hears „Supertramp“, post-Gabriel „Genesis“, „mike and the Mechanics“ etc., but "Extremely Normal“ easily manage to set their own mark.

Band Bio:

Extremely Normal is the brainchild of songwriter/composer and guitarist Christian Ehmer, who founded the group in that summer of 2000. Having survived the obligatory line – up changes, the current formation is active since early 2004.
The rhythmical root of it all is the rhythm section, consisting of Marco Menzel on bass and Bastian Schmitz on Drums. Bastian Müller on keys and Christian Ehmer’s guitars are responsible for harmonies, textures, tone and arrangement. The voice of the group is Petra Wirges, a professional singer with almost 30 + years of stage experience under her belt is the front – woman to this outfit. She ranges from soft, cozy soul to aggressive blues, operette-like vibrato to Joni Mitchell. She puts her heart into these songs, it’s hard to believe they aren’t her lyrics. But it is true, Christian Ehmer is the author behind the stories about everything that defines all of us as human beings.

Having played countless festivals, clubs, the chickenfence circuit, radio stations and more all over germany and other countries, they are ready for the next step. Hop on.
