Danny spent most of the 1980's as musical director for oldies band DANNY AND THE JUNIORS (Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay). As such, He would frequently play shows with numerous rock and roll acts. This enabled him to travel the world, performing and learning from such legends as CHUCK BERRY, WILSON PICKETT, BEN E. KING, GARY U.S.BONDS, THE COASTERS, THE DRIFTERS, MARTHA REEVES, MARY WELLS, EDDIE KENDRICKS, DAVID RUFFIN, LITTLE ANTHONY, DEL SHANNON, BOBBY LEWIS, and countless others. He usually played with these artists, & more, on big shows hosted by emcees like DICK CLARK, WOLFMAN JACK, and BOWSER of Sha Na Na.
In the 1990's, Danny started his self-titled blues trio, working and recording some original music in the N.J. / Philly / N.Y. areas. In the late nineties, the blues trio was invited to play Bluestock-'97 in Memphis at B.B. King's Blues Club on Beale Street, opening for such blues artists as CHRIS THOMAS KING and KENNY WAYNE SHEPPARD. The following years found The DANNY EYER BAND opening shows for SUSAN TEDESCHI & JOHNNY WINTER at the Trump Marina Hotel/Casino, ZZ TOP at Trump Taj Mahal, and B.B.KING at the House Of Blues in Atlantic City.
This CD is about 10 years in the making, & recorded in only 4 hours LIVE!!!.....Danny says "I like it LIVE, LOUD, & FUN, so THAT'S what this disc is about. At one of our shows, you're just as likely to see me play straight-ahead blues (Standard & Original) as you are to see me take an old rock/pop or country song and beat the you-know-what out of it....." Some say Danny Eyer is out of control. In a good way. Really....
Charles Schroeder from THE PRESS of Atlantic City, New Jersey
gave the disc 2 and 1/2 stars (out of 4), saying "Eyer is an
earnest & likable performer and memorable guitarist: Nothing
is held in reserve..." GET YOURSELF SOME FUN!!!

This is some fantastic rock'n blues.

The Boxes of Blues Band just cook from start to finish. There's good songs, strong playing, and the sound captured by recording "live" is unbelievable. Quite a bang for the buck, very highly recommended for contemporary blues-rock enthusiasts.

I was lucky enough to see Danny Eyer open for Johnny Winter about a month ago. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! My favorites include, Rorry Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, along with Johnny Winter. I consider myself a very picky listener and Danyy Eyer live was so good that I had to get this CD. I'm glad I did, because it's very good too. I evenbought a second copy to give as a gift. I'm sure gonna see Danny again and look forward to a second CD. Keep up the great work. Danny's playing is a breath of fresh air!! Charlie, Booklyn, New York

A very honest and strong blues based offering. The songs are well crafted and executed. The guitar and vocals really hold your attention. The overall presentation increases with multiple listenings.
