Eyes Right
Biography

Out of the ashes of New York City's notorious "Lower East Side Scene" comes a new band that reintroduces "Rock" to it's long-lost colleague "Roll"! In a time when Top 40 radio is glutted with former "Mickey Mouse Club" members, and most music relies on riffs stolen from other artists via sampler or turntable, Eyes Right delivers fantastic original material bringing guitar-based rock and roll back to the fore. They're not "retro"; rather, a breath of fresh new electricity pumped into a driven style that is reanimated for today's modern music arena. Eyes Right's songs and their live performances, are powerful, passionate, and sometimes downright prankish.

The band configuration is simple: guitar, bass, and drums. Everyone sings. Tim Ellis is the vocal front man and lead guitarist...in fact, he is the only guitarist. His soulful, impassioned vocals bring a heightened intensity to the songs ["...fantastic pipes with a voice that falls somewhere between sweet and savage."---Time Out NY], while he strums a jangly rhythm for one, pulls out a crunchy hook or whips out a barn-burnin' solo for another. He keeps the synergy together for the larger than life sound of the tight-knit trio. Pete Sophy surges with unbridled energy as his bass lines rattle the soul...all the time, holding down the fort [ "This ain't no 'Root-Note Ralph'."----The Pit Report]. His aggressive style plays off well-crafted, creative, bass parts that growl as they anchor the band's original tunes. Drew White is the powerhouse drummer, who's agility behind a trap is impressive and never out of line. With an unstoppable back-beat that lays down the law with precision and depth, the drums become the glue that fuses it all together [ (He) scares the sh*t out of me with his intensity." ---New York Hangover]. Each band member is a capable songwriter in his own rite...making for a wealthy catalog of original compositions that leave the fans screaming for more. The merging of the three members' varied influences ( you've got a little bit of soul, blues, country, punk and of course---good ol' rock 'n' roll ) produces a style that reviewers and fans refuse to categorize. They just know they LIKE it!

Eyes Right plays often at popular New York city clubs such as CBGB's, Continental, and Arlene Grocery. They are planning to begin touring the Northeast region of the U.S. on a quest to expand their fan base. Eyes Right has just released their (very, well-received) debut CD and has already experienced amazing response. It is available at Tower Records ( 692 Broadway, NYC) or right here at CDBaby.com ( http://www.cdbaby.com/eyesright ).

What about the guitarist?

There is nothing here about the guitarist Mike Broderick. He kicks ass! You can hear his amazing spirit all through the songs, it's a shame he's not mentioned. And that bass player is brilliant. Too bad the singer sounds like something out of Journey.

Their music is definitely worth listening to and supporting. They keep it real and their music is original, while keeping the roots of true rock-n-roll intact. I had the opportunity to see them perform in Indiana and they represented NYC masterfully! Lots of people bought it out there, so what are you waiting for?! GO GET IT!

This CD is totally cool, you can groove to the music and it has some very catchy tunes. To the drummer - long live the tiny monkeys, the lead singer is cute and the bassist is a hottie. Greetings from Chi-town.

Great sounds. I love the vocal talent from the whole band, it's such a rare thing to see these days. Nothing could beat the energy and talent in these tunes. Keep rockin on guys.
