"Weiss is representative of a postmodern generation of young composers for the small jazz ensemble (Ryan Cohan, John Hollenbeck, Anthony Wilson are others) that is interested in going beyond the head-solos-head format to more elaborately developed forms."
-Thomas Conrad, JazzTimes

"Don't be fooled. He's only playing a few notes, but boy they're the right ones."

CD Review from ejazznews.com
I hear a lot of solid, positive influences from the sundry performers that make up Ezra Weiss's new CD effort, i.e. Betty Carter, Bill Evans, et al. And, this certainly doesn't lessen the overall final product,as this project is an amalgam of consummate talent that anyone can be proud of. Weiss has created a disc containg great rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic power..........Balanced with extreme sensitivity, feeling, & interpretation. This is up there with any of the finer jazz groups that one could consider a role model & inspiration to musicians anywhere/everywhere.

Weiss, plus group exhibit a great sense of what they do, showing us a certain total knolwedge & possibilities of what they are asked to do musically......This, with
rhythmic, melodic & harmonic grace.
