Album Notes

The New Yorker calls the band "A quintet of youthful punk-popsters hell-bent on bringing theatrics back to rock-and-roll."

Paper Magazine calls the album "Entrancing... it's as if the Scissor Sisters and Hedwig got together to cover old Meat Loaf songs. In other words, it's absolutely fabulous."

New York City rockers The Fabulous Entourage whip up a
fearless combination of punk and pop, acoustic and
synth, dirty grooves and power ballads. This keyboard/bass/drum trio, joined by two Supremes-style female vocalists, has quickly become a cult sensation known for lush arrangements, throbbing beats, and glam-rock extravagance.

In addition to concocting ass-kicking pop music,
The Fabulous Entourage are known for their raucously theatrical live shows, incorporating extravagant costumes and elaborate staging, inviting comparisons to Devo (New York Times), Hedwig (Village Voice), and The B-52s (LA Splash).

Their debut full-length album "Play Nice Now" is mixed by legendary producer Tim O'Heir (Sebadoh, Superdrag, StellaStarr) and features guest performances from members of the bands Theo and the Skyscrapers, The Hazzards, and Jesus H. Christ. Plus, it's got a cover of the Tom Jones hit "Sex Bomb!"

The New York Press writes "This bass/keyboard/drum trio busts dirty grooves that bounce effortlessly between art-house punk and sugar-coated pop as the lovely ladies doo-wop with grace."

LA Weekly calls them "Freaky boy-girl art-punk sensations."

Newsday calls them "A glam rock sensation."

Very happy to add this CD to my music collection. I’m particularly fond of "Theme Song", "Million Buxx", "MaraThon", "Midnight Cowboy", and "Perry’s Dream" but the whole CD is consistently solid and equally addictive! “Play Nice Now” is Fabulous… I highly recommend it!

I can't take it out of the stereo!

This is such a fun CD to listen to. (Wow, that sounds like I have the vocabulary of a 5 year old.) Seriously though, you don't hear a lot of music out there like this; it's unique, infectious, and carefree. It's hasn't left my CD player since I got it a few weeks ago. I love it! My favorite tracks of the moment are "Midnight Cowboy," "Hello There Lonely Person," and "Perry's Dream." (The entire thing is great though - no fillers or crap.) Also, the cover of Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb" kills! In conclusion...buy this CD! Thank you.
