F.J. Nanic's work is original contemporary acoustic ballads and blues informed by years of travel and living outloud. His songs and melodies are enriched with his personal history. You hear a certain overlay from the influences of the gypsy music of his childhood in Europe, but then he's also influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gabriel, and the blues and (just to keep it interesting) there's some Jazz and Flamenco thrown in. His work is catchy, nuanced, spicey and contemporary.
Faco is known for his guitar work, both with his driving rhythm guitar and with his precise and compelling fingerpicking he pushes the instrument in service to the song. His vocals are deep and resonant, his lyrics are poetry and his melodies carry you away and set you down in a different place entirely from where you started.
"Window in My Roof" was recorded in Auckland, New Zealand. Faco has performed throughout Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, in venues from the Casablanca in Vienna to street corners in Holland, to back porches in Mississippi. He lived for 5 years in Paris, where he played with the multi-national band "The Lost Brothers". Currently he is with his family in Portland, Oregon.

Intense, bluesy stuff. Loved it.

Window in My Roof has this haunting kind of feeling to it, all through- especially liked Take Your Pillow. A winsome kind of longing... and then light again, like after a rain. Good stuff.
