Album Notes

"So often, you don't know what you've got until it's gone." This circumstance, Ryan (lead vocals, guitar) of Faded explains, may be what he fears the most. Undoubtedly, this played a role in selecting a name for Faded's latest release, Lucky (FDD). "We just never want to forget how lucky we are."

In February of 2003, on the heels of the independently released University LP, Portland, Oregon-based rock band, Faded (also Dan: bass, vocals; Jason: drums) signed on with FDD Records. Then, as the summer of 2003 approached, Faded further refined its brand of "american rock and roll" for the production of Lucky. The 14-track LP, though thematically unified, deals with an array of subject matter. "On a few of the songs we got to do some story telling," says Ryan. "That's something we really enjoy... While some songs recount past experiences and others address fears about the future, the fact is, we're lucky to be where we're at right now. It's so easy to think that the "grass is greener" somewhere else, but grass is grass. The only way to make it greener is to water it."

Considering themselves "the lovechild of Linkin Park and the Goo Goo Dolls," Faded is three rock and roll superheroes, destined to save the world from the likes of Marilyn Manson and Celine Dion. Although they will undoubtedly find no shortage of opportunity in 2004, it would appear that Faded is in no hurry to move on from where they currently find themselves. They are, after all, quite "Lucky" to be there.

This is one of my favorite Cd's right now! "Lucky" was everything i wanted in a cd, and a whole lot more! Faded covers just about every genre of music on this album from hard rock to more mellow rock... No matter what mood i am in, i can find a song on this album to nod my head to! A+ , 5 STARS, hands down one of the best releases i've purchased this year!! thanks FADED!

By far the band's best work to date. I have both University and Lucky and Luck is clearly a product of hard work and dedication to Faded's music. They will definitely not need LUCK to be successful. This band has talent and Lucky is proof of it.
