Intended for dyed-in-the-wool fans, this rarities set is truly amazing in its scope, almost forgotten tracks, and copious liner notes. Casual fans might be better served with the "Magnified" and "Fantastic Planet" albums.

I really enjoy this album immensely. I had all of the previous albums already, but hearing some of the different musical and lyrical takes on songs that I know and love was awesome. I recommend this collection to anybody that wants to delve into the beginnings of their favorite Failure songs as well as experience new songs and sounds that were not previously available.

I'd say this is a must-have for rabid Failure fans. How often do you get to hear demo versions of songs from your favorite band? The liner notes with commentary on individual songs were enlightening, particularly for those of us who write and produce our own music. The fact that K. Andrews and G. Edwards were able to collaborate in such an involved way speaks to a level of creativity and egolessness very difficult to acheive, and also explains why their sound is so complex and original. It was a treat to hear details regarding the creation and production of songs I've been listening to and studying for years. They actually give away a few secrets to their sounds that other, more stingy folks might keep secret. It was also fun to hear material from Comfort. Now I know where Shellac got their sound. They stole it from Failure. This CD provides yet more proof that K. Andrews and G. Edwards are even more brilliant than we originally feared! This is one of the best CD's I've bought this year. It's full of strange rare things.
