From the heart of coal country in Pottsville, Pennsylvania comes Faith In Exile's first full length album entitled "In Defiance of Suffering." The album draws its influences from bands such as All That Remains, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Katatonia, Soilwork and from the dark, gloomy feel of the the band's hometown. The result is an album that is brutally heavy at times, but always retains the melodic sensilbilites that Faith In Exile has become known for. The album was recorded at Throrium Productions in St. Clair, PA and was mastered by guru Alan Douches (Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Black Dahlia Murder, Bullet For My Valentine) at West Westside Music in New York. The album features Ron Gubala's intricate and hard-hitting drumming complete with multiple tempo changes and melds many different drumming styles together. Allen Buehner completes the rhythm section, laying the foundation for the dueling guitars of Brandon Foti and vocalist/guitarist Rob Allison. The guitarists' styles meld together perfectly, but their own unique styles are able to stand out while being cohesive. Allison's shape-shifting vocals complete the songs, transforming from angelic clean to demonic screams in a split second, and are always underscored with a sense of urgency. The combination of all of these elements produces a unique sound that stands out in today's music scene. Take a listen for yourself!!
