Album Notes

Julie, a native of Utica, NY, began her singing career fifteen years ago in the Midwest, where she sang in various clubs and venues with guitarist Michael Bay and pianist Dan Wall. Upon moving back to Central New York she performed with the Sal Alberico Big Band and later formed the Julie Falatico Trio. Julie also performs with Joe Ferlo as a Duo and with larger ensembles as well. In addition, to her musical career, Julie conducts empowerment workshops for local organizations. Her workshops are designed to help individuals overcome personal challenges by learning to tap into their talents and abilities, so they can utilize their gifts to experience joyful living.

Guitarist, Joe Ferlo, originally from Rome, NY, has played guitar for over forty years. He’s a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he lived and performed for twelve years. Joe has performed as a solo artist as well as with a variety of bands throughout the years. Additionally, Joe is a private teacher of guitar for all levels of music and an instructor at Herkimer County Community College. He currently resides in Rome, NY with his wife Carolyn.

Bassist, Matthew Vacanti, is a respected music educator from Central New York. He received his education at SUNY Fredonia, Eastman School of Music, and SUNY Oswego. Matthew, an orchestra teacher in Fulton New York, has performed with the Erie Philharmonic, the Amherst Symphony and the Oswego Community Orchestra. Presently Matthew composes and performs regularly in the Central New York area, including performances at the Syracuse Jazz Fest. He also runs a small independent record label called Spider Records where he records and produces SAMMY Award winning records. He has produced recordings by Frank Stagnitta, E.S.P, Julie Falatico, The Kevin Dorsey Group and others.
