Falcon's Quest is Ted Falcon's debut CD project from 1995.
Starting with a rockin' electric violin riff in "Soul Food" and concluding with a string quartet and band with "All the Love in My Heart", this recording demonstrates Falcon's diversity and imagination.
"Jerusalem" is Ted's signature song that starts with a wild violinistic fury and settles into an exotic 6/8 groove with a haunting violin melody.
"A Grande Aventura" is a short Brazilian style piece with Falcon on classical guitar and Russ May on the pandeiro-- The title track "Falcon's Quest" is stylistic of Bill Laswell"s Material projects.
It features violin and saxophone, samples, a real funk groove and spoken word sections.
Falcon also pays tribute to the great saxophonist John Coltrane with his version of "Naima".
Imrovisational and experimental at first, the song eventually falls into a quiet funk groove with acoustic piano, electric bass and drums.
Violin and saxophone take solos in this funk-ballad.
This CD was recorded in Indiana while Ted was a student at Indiana University.
