Album Notes

"Jan Fanucchi" draws from the rich heritage of American roots music. Showcasing a musical diversity and integrity with styles drawing from blues, R&B, rock-a-billy, swing and country. With Jan's soulful vocals and the bands sympathetic backing, they will pull you in for a new twist on the American genre.

Jan Fanucchi (aka: Fanucci) has been singing professionally for 25 years. Back in the mid eighties, she hooked up with Doug Hamblin and decided to pair up. They were signed to the independent label "Blueprint Records" shortly thereafter. The debut LP, Doug Hamblin-Jan Fanucci (featuring some of the Bay Area's prominent blues players, keyboardist Jimmy Pugh, now with Robert Cray; longtime Van Morrison bassist David Hayes; stellar guitarist Amos Garrett) received a 5 star rave from the Gavin Report and CMJ (College Music Journal). It was an instant hit in various markets in the U.S.and Europe, in both the blues and on commercial rock radio (see reviews on the following page). They began touring with the strength of solid radio play, selling out San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, Seattle's Backstage and Aspen's Paradise club. The LP's first single, "Let's Make Love", finally peaked at #6 on Billboard Magazine's Top Ten for radio airplay in the Pacific Northwest, and earned them a Bammy nomination for Blues Artist of the Year in 1988. A song from this CD/LP was featured in the Franchise Pictures release "Angel Eyes" starring Jennifer Lopez in 2001.
