ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I formed the band "Surface Dwellers" after the release of "Refugee in a Cardboard Town" . Although I'm a solo artist presently living in Denver, I've played along with a number of bands for the past three decades from Chicago to Denver to Sonoma and back. "Surface Dwellers' are the physical manifestation of of what I had in mind in order to bring my songs to the stage In "Refugee in a Cardboard Town" I was looking for the essence of each song by keeping the recording somewhat sparse. The lyrics usually come first but by adding acoustic and electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, all seven songs on "RIACT" have similar instrumentation. Essentially I'm a guitarist but once I get the reference tracks or the song idea recorded, then the vocals and the percussion are key steps in the initial creation of each recording. I then add other elements to do their part in the embellishment phase.

I'm into Jazz, Dylan, the Beatles, John McLaughlin, Ry Cooder and Dr. John just to name a few. Have a Wild Ride!

Stay Cool.....Thanks for listening.......F.A.Poindexter
