ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After briefly disbanding in late 2005, Farpoint reformed with a new lineup in 2006 and went on to record what reviewers and fans are calling the best Farpoint album to date: COLD STAR QUIET STAR.

COLD STAR QUIET STAR is a story in a vaguely science fiction setting, dealing with concepts of honor, faith, loneliness, conflict, acceptance and redemption. Musically the album is adventurous art-rock, combining male and female vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, flute, bass and baritone guitars, widely varied keyboard textures, and a diverse array of drums and percussion. Musical influences range from progressive rock to folk rock to classical and more.

Moving
I have attended several gigs and I have to admit the CD does your live performances justice! My favorite as well, Solar Wind. It reminds me of the band "Yes" in many ways. But at the same time is unique and modern. I can definitely tell Frank had a lot of input on this one. Keep up the great work. Mike Stewart
