Album Notes

Derrick B. Kelley a.k.a. Mr. Fashigadale would like to start by saying it was only possible for me to pursue my dream of music because of my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I was born in Los Angeles California but raised in Compton & Watts. I love music & what inspired me most was being in the studio when I was fourteen watching one of the greatest artists in hip hop history 2Pac record the All Eyes on Me album. I knew from that point on that whatever I did I would be the best to me if nobody believed in me at least I know I tried to be the best I could be no matter what happened. I started doing music when I was five years old in the backyard of the ElTiki apartments where I spent most of my time as a child & some of my teenage years right next to the pj's in Watts. I started banging when I was twelve on the east side of Compton from Luders Park Piru, which is bloods. I started selling dope a little after being put on the hood. By the time I was seventeen I was balling out of control but niggas be hating on ya boy & shortly after that I was shot three times on Bullis & Rosecrans with a 22 calibur hand gun. Sometime after I was released from the hospital I found out my high school sweetheart was pregnant with my first son, so I ended up moving north to San Jose with my older brother. He got me a job working for a company called Funcoland where I became the assistant mgr. San Jose wasn't for me so I moved back to LongBeach. When I got back to Los Angeles things were just not right between me & my son's mother so I moved out and met my daughter's mother. Shortly after that she ended up pregnant. One year after she had my daughter I got locked up& was sentenced to three years for possession of sells. I was released November 16, 2003. I met my wife who I'm with now right after I got out & we have been together ever since. I'm on a real mission to bring back good music to the west coast & give people a piece of my dreams & to share with the world my passion for the artistry and love I have for what I do.
