The latin alternative rock en español scene keeps pushing forward, and helping in moving it along, you find FATIMA. in the frontline. Full of energy and good vibes, Fatima always delivers
their hearts on their sleeves to everyone. They play every show like if it were their first and their last!...

Formed in East Los Angeles, California, in 2000, they came out of hiding in August of 2001. Without a demo or recording of any kind, they have managed to continuously stay very busy by word of mouth and self promotion. Their hard work both on and off the stage has put them in some of Hollywoods most famous venues (ex: the ROXY theater, the KEY club, HARD ROCK CAFE, and the HOUSE OF BLUES).

The Los Angeles band says that their influences vary among members, ranging from Bob Dylan, Deep Purple and the Buena Vista Social Club, to Mana, the Pixies and the Cure, along with more contemporary bands like the Strokes, the Ataris, Jumbo and Outkast. Their appreciation for music and their friendship is what brought this band together, and it is also what keeps them rocking. They bring an alternative rock style that manages to light every emotion on fire.

The band went into Cuicalcali Recording Studios in 2003 to begin work on what would be their first recording and their debut album, Ojos Cerrados, due in your stereo... soon!

REVIEWS

Not to shabby, pretty good record overall!

There are a few albums that you just cannot take out of your CD player, you usually end up playing them out, and then there is the other one that you purchase listen to it for about a week and then you get bored of it. An eventually that CD you get bored of quick falls in the "I can’t believe I bought that record category" This particular album falls in that category. That does not mean it’s a bad record, it’s a good album; it just doesn’t blow you away. However, if you are looking for something fresh and different in Spanish Rock, other than your usual dark and mope cliché Rock, then I highly recommend you go purchase this album. Very pop but also punk rock, great to dance too, or just hear loud. Really stands out from the rest of the other Spanish Rock bands, mainly the overall style of music, more up beat and fast. I Think people will enjoy this record just for the fact that it is so different from what we are use to hearing in the Spanish Rock scene, you know that poser vampire Goth crap that many Spanish bands think is cool. There are a couple of songs that really stand out in this record. The strongest track would have to be Ojos Cerrados, great arrangements, the drums and bass are excellent, the guys really got it right on this one. Other good ones would have to be Halgo de mi and Entre tus ojos, great stuff. The other songs on the album, I am not too crazy about, for many reasons. I just felt the vocals where really off key, guitar wise just not there, the whole one guitar playing over the other one, really sounded bad, just feels like they could off done better with one guitar sometimes. If there will be any flaw to this album it would have to be, the overall tempo and pace of the music, the record really doesn’t capture the sound that fans have come to know from there live performances. I also felt that the guitar in this record was not strong, somewhat flat, just does not stand out, especially on any attempt of a lead, just did not do it for me. Another thing was the back up vocals on a couple of songs, weak; it is as if Fatima picked someone from the audience and asks them to sing along a few jams. In addition , I felt a few songs where just to long, keeps you guessing when is this song going to end, just feels like the song is over extended, for no particular reason, other than just the band wanting to rock out in the studio. Other than that, it is a good strong record for a freshmen album!

Damn it Fatima, great job! You know i've been waiting just like everyone else for about a year for the album to come out, wish I had this while I was away so to remind me more of home. Well it still doesnt capture the true sound such as Danny put, cause theres nothing better than the live show it self. Hope to see you guys soon and wish you the best! I know one day you guys will become as big as the bands i've worked with, so im really looking forward to seeing a show of yours somewhere over seas when u guys hit it big! Peace! www.asesino.com.mx

I guess that: Please keep it short, and about this CD, not the artist in general. Means nothing to some people. I really think that some people may think that they know a thing about a thing or two, but the reality is that they really know nothing. This band however, knows how to please an audience & keep the fans alive; they play for the fans no matter what childish reviews they might confront.Oh yeah one thing this cd has thought me is how to stand up Something I'm sure that fans will learn as well. Now since I know how to read I will keep it short. This is Kelly Goose Cock (AKA Memphis! saying adios P.S This so called Danny Sucks!
