Anyone looking from the outside in would have assumed that this was a dream life for entertainer turned holistic edu-tainer, Fatima Lowe. It was. Things were really happening! She was on the fast track to notoriety and it appeared that Hollywood was starting to take notice. And then it happened! Illness had come into her life, halted her groove, and paved the way for some valuable life lessons.

After a 2001 diagnosis of Fibromyalgia Syndrome, an autoimmune neurotransmitter illness characterized by intense full body pain, chronic fatigue, depression , hormonal imbalances among other symptoms, Fatima knew that she had found greater purpose. Life could no longer be about jet setting to and from gigs or music as usual. She needed time to heal. Her quality of life depended on it.

Along the way there was a paradigm shift, in which she decided to pursue more knowledge in the healing arts, raw vegan nutrition, holistic health and use music in a way that was complementary to the new lifework that was slowly emerging. She documented her healing process through song and with the release of Purge and Re-Member, a spiritual wellbeing CD. This CD further extends her platform, serving as a tool to create awareness about the mind-body-spirit process of healing both within and without.

This has led to being featured as an edu-tainer in health and wellness circle nationwide including speaking at such high profile organization events as the Fibromyalgia Coalition International Conference, The Raw Film Festival, and being featured in such publications as Fibromyalgia Aware for the National Fibromyalgia Association and Visions Metro Weekly.

An advocate for health & well-being, she is founder of Raw Fibro Recovery, an LA based Fibromyalgia recovery support group assists people diagnosed in the discovery, transition and implementation of a raw vegan lifestyle for the purpose of optimal health and recovery.

It is her hope that others will tap into the connection that comes with becoming holistically in tune with our body, mind and spirit and the fact that given the proper tools, the body can heal itself."
