They call us the Sonny & Cher of 2005 or was it Captain & Tennille???? Anyway, this is Fat Love's first album and it is a melting pot of musical style. It begins with a funky hip hop-tinged folk vibe, makes its way into a world beat disco jam and finds its way home again. We are just two kooky people in love living the Hollywood dream... basically hanging out drinkin' lots of coffee and rentin' movies on a Saturday night.
Josh Schreiber was in a band during the late eighties called "Double D Nose," which was influential in the early formation of the rock rap genre. So don't be surprised when you hear some smokin' rhymes sprinkled throughout the album. He's constantly being told that he sounds like the guy who sings "Welcome Back Kotter." That makes sense because his dad was the famous comedian Avery Schreiber. In the 1970's, Avery graced our tv sets with his curly hair and moustache in the Dorito's ads.
Rachel Lesner can be seen dancing around the neighborhood of Melrose and Fairfax wearing her cowboy hat and a smile. She sounds like an old jazz singer singin' a disco tune in a musical comedy. She's been told her voice is reminiscent of Anita Baker, Annie Lennox, Donna Summer, Tori Amos, Toni Braxton, Sade, Joan Armatrading and Diana Ross. However, we accept whoever she happens to be channeling at any given moment.
We invite you to share "A HOLLYWOOD DREAM" with us.........

They Rock!
author: Reba Lee
I really like the sincerity that shines through the words and the vibe of the music. It's really refreshing to hear people who want to spread life and love to the world, instead of the same ole songs that are played over and over again. I hope they do another CD. Really enjoyed them!
