Album Notes

Favorite Saints is a Chicago quintet showcasing an impressive range of sounds and expression. Alison Rich, Jessica Butler and Scott Venvertloh join brothers David and Allen Johnson to create a mood combining elements of rock with the resonant vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments of folk. "Southern Gentleman" is the band's first release. Favorite Saints made their debut in 2003 and continue to perform in and around Chicago. Previously: David and Allen's former group, Very Secretary, was formed in 1997 in Champaign, Ill., by Braid drummer Roy Ewing, and David and Allen. Violinist Rachael Dietkus (Promise Ring, matt pond PA, City on Film) joined later and added subtle beauty to the band's critically acclaimed 1999 album, "Standing in the Shade" (Mud Records).
