Album Notes

When we began recording this album, we didn’t know we had a theme. When we started the process of final mixing, and were trying to come up with a title, we realized that every song we included is about a journey, some literal, some spiritual, some even in other realities, and that a line from Susan’s “Old Fashioned Farmer” song would make the perfect title. We included traditional songs with no single known author, as well as new songs by 21st century writers. All of them reflect our belief that folk music is a continuum, and that journeys and pathways, whether chosen or imposed by circumstances or culture, will be a part of life on this Earth as long as she continues to spin in her own pathway around the sun.
