The Feel Bads : Pairing

That fun loud poppy indie alterna stuff. It's as if Beck stayed in college and dated a little more, then decided to put on a play with Jim Henson's demented brother.

Album Notes

The Feel Bads are on fire. No... seriously, they are on fire, someone get the hose.

That's just what Josh did. After the declaration of Hiatus by his former band Love Scream, Josh hid in solitude, lost weight, gained it back, and lost it again, all the while writing songs about all his experiences in the last few years. Not just of losing and gaining weight mind you, but all the little stuff, the relationships, flirting, failures, loss, friendships, odd details, and of course, ninjas.

With two records of material under his belt, he put together a live group to play and promote. However, after 3 months of fairly intense half way unproductive gigging, Josh brought in Love Scream drummer Dan Meath to add to the mix only to find that being in a rock band quite frankly... sucks.

The live group helped Josh record a bundle of tracks and agreed to seperate as it was the right thing to do. From these left over tracks and a few new songs, Josh decided to put out the first offical release of the Feel Bads, simply called "Pairing".

Pairing is the first thing Josh has released since the release of his former band Love Screams Cd "More Songs about the Reproductive Cycle".

Pairing however, is not like the well polished "More songs..." of his prior band.

Pairing is a quick, fun, loud, rough around the edges EP, with songs that are slightly more evolved, and none of which are treated as throw away tracks.

The Feel Bads have a new direction now. Performing in a style that has been described as "Beck on acid attempting to do a play", others have called the show "A demented kids show that left me confused and laughing all the while".

With the new live direction, comes this new EP, the first release of the Feel Bads, with more releases to come just around the corner.

"I just hope people either laugh and/or think when they hear my music, or see my shows, cause those are really two of the most worthwhile things to do"
- Joshua

I was really impressed by Pairing. "The River Curves" gave me chills and "Bump"...Wow! There really isn't a song on this CD that I didn't enjoy. It's refreshing! I'll be watching for CD number two!

I laughed, I cried, I put on my own sock puppet show

If Jeff Buckley came back to life, jammed with John Denver (back when he was alive too), and mixed in some Devo, that is exactly what this record would not sound like. This EP is not not a great listening experience.
