Singer, songwriter, model, and artist you can name it all! Born Leye Felicite Tchaco in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire, from a Gouro tribe known as the most talented and artistic culture well known for their “Zaouli” dance mask, FELY came into the world surrounded by a rich legacy of traditional Ivorian music, chanter and artists. Fely recorded her first two albums, "Amour Perdu" (“Lost Love”), 1996, and "Aude a L’amour" (“Ode to Love”) 1998, one of the youngest female artist at the time, with a distinctive sound created an enormous stir in the Ivory Coast. She sold out venues in her country Cote d’Ivoire and the neighboring countries in West Africa. After withdrawing from the musical scene for several years, she is now back strong. She released her first American debut album "De Zeregnan" (and Homage to our Forefathers) in 2004. FELY’s original song, "Mobali Naga" made it to the semi-finalist at the International Songwriting Competition in 2004, with another title "Djugumen" from the same album, Fely won a “Just Plain Folks” music Award in 2006, and was also in the semifinalist for the IMWS independent World Series songwriting competition organized by Disc Makers in 2007. In August, 2005, FELY, backed by 12 musicians, gained rave reviews when she performed on the bill with luminaries such as Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Anthony B and Alpha Blondy at the 22nd Annual Reggae on the River Festival in Humboldt County, CA. FELY was later asked to return to the stage and dance with headliner Alpha Blondy, during Reggae on the River’s finale. Fely’s new album "Awareness" is just that and you will enjoy it a lot. Her titles "Afrique Bou Le Wou" (cry of Mother Africa) is about children of Africa dying of war diseases and poverty and "Lets Go For Peace" is promoting peace and global warming around the world. Lets all chant and dance in the rhythm of Peace worldwide.
