Album Notes

If you take a bunch of Australia's best touring and studio musicians and let them play the music they really love then you've got a world-class Western Swing band called the
Feral Swing Katz

"It's refreshing to hear Country played in the manner it was intended."
Jim Lauderdale

If you're in a joint that's swingin', where people are dancing and smiling and it's all feeling good,
then you're at a Feral Swing Katz show.

"From the Murrumbidgee to the Mississippi, no cat swings like the Ferals!"
Kenneth R. Date Radio 2RRR Sydney

No surprise then that the Feral Swing Katz picked up the 2002 CMAA Golden Guitar Award for Best Instrumental Track, and in 2001 the Mo Award for Best Live Country Band.

In 1996 Stuart French and Michel Rose discovered their common love of jazz and country music. Stuart's hot guitar licks matched with Michel's harmony licks on pedal steel created the exciting signature sound of the Feral Swing Katz. These guys were born to play together.

The list of artists these guys have backed or jammed with over the years reads like a who's who of international stars including Merle Haggard, The Highwaymen, Albert Lee and Leann Rimes, to name just a few.

Four standing ovations and encores from the 2000 strong audience at the St Louis International Steel Convention in September 2002 placed these musicians as some of the best in the world. Performing in Nashville on the same tour lead to great reviews by Nashville's 'old guard'.

"I was there when the "Feral Swing Katz" broke my record!! I am part owner of SteelRadio.com and can tell you that this group has broken every record there was to break. I have been working the convention for 31 years now, and I have never seen the type of response that was received by the "Katz". When the "Katz" got on stage, all connections in the state of Illinois lost their ability to receive e-mails for about twenty minutes. This means that I sucked up all the band width in the state. This defines down to well over 500,000 hits. I had seven servers to handle all the listeners around the world and they all were filled. This has never happened before!"
