Last CD by John Hoskinson's former band. Ferocious Daisies was a 3 piece band that cranked out melodic, power pop. Sort of like Crowded House meets Joe Jackson at a love-in.

Album Notes

Once upon a time music was made like this. Really - I read it somewhere so it must be so.

It works like this: 3 guys write a batch of songs and mold them in front of audiences in sweatly little clubs. Then these 3 guys spend a day stuck in a small room in a recording studio laying down the basic tracks live. Overdubs and mixing are done the following day and that's it. Back to the sweaty little clubs to hawk your shiny disks.

This Ferocious Daisies CD is an example of what you kids might call "doing it old school". Thanks to the expert assistance of Producer/Engineer Ken Van Druten (who has worked with everyone from Everclear to the Rolling Stones) there's a nice sparkling finish to these little pop gems.

Enjoy it with someone you love -- or while plotting revenge against someone you USED to love.

REVIEW:
"This three piece from Orange County actually plays music that sounds nothing like Ska Punk. Their refreshing pop intelligence shines through on matured Power Pop. Their songs are brewed from the old, 'less-is-more' recipe, which works perfectly with their unpretentious, good-time, music."
- Eric Shea, LISTEN.COM

FEROCIOUS DAISIES ARE: John Hoskinson - Vocals, Guitars; Joe Mazzarella - Bass, Vocals; Old Man Gillespie played drums and told many Paul McCartney stories.

Hi over there in SoCal, I happend to get in tough with John's music during my internship in San Clemente. I got a copy of this disc and took it back to my hometown Nueremerg/ Germany. Well, what should I say, here we had terrible American "music" from guys like David Hasselhof or Michael Jackson, but that's over now!!! NOW, we got very cool tunes to listen to! Thanks John.

Imagine Crowded House, the Pixies, Joe Jackson and Cheap Trick simultaneously ignoring their respective stop signs at an aural (note spelling) four-way intersection. BAM! This amalgamation of early 1980s angst and late 1990s sound sensibilities results in some pure Orange County Power Pop (R) that is original and refreshing. Check it out now!

If you turn on the radio today you get the painful choice of listening to four to six pretty boys with bad facial hair and no instruments or a "hard ass" white boy from the suburbs backed by a drum machine and three 80's metal chords. Hearing a plan old pop song has become an anomaly. So if you are like me and constantly looking for plan old pop music, buy this CD. Start with a box of Beatles, mix in some Neil Finn, REM and a pinch of sarcasm and viola! Ferocious Daisies.
