Album Notes

Sandra Ferreira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1965. In 1969, she moved with her family to Sao Paulo, where she lived until 1999.

At age of eight, she began studying classical piano with private teachers and in 1988 received a Pianist degree from Jardim Sao Paulo School of Music.

At this point she has performed as pianist and vocalist in several auditions, recitals and events, and had conducted several non- professional choirs (adult, adolescents, women and children choirs).

Parallely, she was enrolled at the Psychology Program and in 1989 she received a BA degree from the Pontific Catholic University in Sao Paulo.

Two years later, she started her professional training and studies in Lyric Singing with internationally renowned teachers such as Leyla Farah and Carmo Barbosa, successfully auditioned in 1992 at the Sao Paulo State Symphonic Choir, where she performed as Soprano Choirist and Soloist until 1999, when she moved to the USA, to pursue a Master degree in Music Therapy at New York University where she was selected with honor. In 2004 she received a Master degree in Voice performance through The Boston Conservatory. She has performed several operas as a main role (Susannah- Floyd, Marriage of Figaro- Mozart, Turando- Puccini, Orfeo and Euridices, etc) and performed at numerous recitals and concerts in the US and Brazil.

Mrs. Ferreira professional experience and academic background associating Psychology and Classical Music reflects her commitment with the Music as a special, deep and captivating language, which has both individual and social significant repercussions.

Since she came to the USA, she has charming the public with her lyrically trained voice at several vocal solo Recitals in North Haven, Hamden, Danbury, Bridgeport, Boston and has performed piano and organ in events in Bridgeport, Hamden, Danbury, New York and Massachusetts as well. She also succeds as Church Music and Choir Director.

Well done and a Joy to listen to.

This is an excellent first CD by Sandra. This CD is very well done and is truely a joy to listen to. The arrangement of the songs definately shows the wonderful range of Sandra's vocal talents. If you love operatic vocals then this is definately an album worth buying.
