Album Notes

This 3-piece progressive rock band combines elements of classic progressive rock with their unique musical influence to create the original sound that is Ferris Mudd.

ALEX JASPERSE of The Muse's Muse says:
There’s more to Ferris Mudd than words. While their music can be beautiful and full of familiar sounds in tracks like “Unrapped”, it can also be dark, disturbing and vicious. “End of the Day” sails from gentle acoustic guitar lines to electric guitar passages that interject a brief sense of chaos, only to dissolve into one of the most honest vocal melodies that’ll tear your heart apart. The listener’s imagination is offered some licence, but Ferris Mudd’s music will break you down and coerce you into finding a truth – even if it has to claw its way out. It visits the dark places we avoid, presenting them in an artistic expression that demands revisit.
To suggest that it is something familiar is to reject the fact that it is dangerously new.
The Verdict:
Creativity: 10/10
Originality: 9.7/10
Production: 10/10
Overall: 9.9/10

REVIEWS

Ferris Mudd manages to create their own sound
author: Ralph
To begin with: great album, very fine musicians and son writers. All songs have something to offer. Comparisions are difficult to give, but if you like Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Yes, and other such like bands, then this cd will not disappoint you. This is certainly one of my favorites. Ferris Mudd combines the classic era sound progressive rock with ...
author: Prognaut Webzine / Ron Fuchs / February 16th, 2007
Ferris Mudd combines the classic era sound progressive rock with more modern bands such as Spock's Beard, Radiohead, Marillion, and Porcupine Tree. This combination goes beyond the typical clone bands with something fresh sounding, at least to my ears. This band has such great potential to be spoken in the same sentence as any of the bands mentioned above. This is one of my favorite independent releases of 2006, and ranks quite high I might add. The band has a page at MySpace so you can check out their music for yourself and see that the self-titled debut by Ferris Mudd is must have addition to your music collection.
