Fetal Pigs In Brine is a new hardcore band from the Santa Cruz, CA area that combines a surf vibe with old school punk and '80s/'90s alternative. The influences range from Bad Brains to Bjork. The goal of Fetal Pigs In Brine is to bring the raw power, aesthetic, and humor of good punk rock into a new interpretation, while intermixing the driving punk beat with slower, ethereal songs in the vein of Beck and Pink Floyd. Surf guitar and/or drums are mixed in on a few songs as well. All of these styles of rock have been popular with the California surf scene, which helps bind together this seemingly eclectic album.
